02 Dec Nepal Eco-Trip Recap
The Eco-Trip team is back from Nepal! After spending 10 days traveling, hiking, searching for red pandas, and experiencing their beautiful country, here are just a few highlights:
- The Team spotted 4 red pandas (with the guidance of the Red Panda Network Forest Guardians) over 3 days of hiking up to 9000 ft in elevation. 2 were spotted in an area where they have not sighted red pandas in over 4 YEARS!!
- We visited various restoration sites where last year they planted over 30,000 seedlings, on track to do 34,000-37,000 in the coming year to help restore the red panda habitat. We even got to contribute and plant multiple species!
- We were warmly welcomed into homestays where we were able to experience nepalese culture, delicious food, and even try our hand at making Momo, a traditional dumpling dish
- We met the Red Panda Network team and visited their office to form wonderful partnerships for future collaborations
