About the Venue

Founded in 1875, Ross Park Zoo is the fifth oldest zoological institution in the United States. Initially donated by businessman Erastus Ross, it has evolved from a recreational area into a hub for wildlife conservation and education.

Accessibility:

While we value inclusivity, please note that the terrain within the zoo, with its hilly and occasionally steep areas, may present challenges for those with limited mobility. We are committed to assisting visitors to the best of our abilities.

2024 Renovations:

Please be aware that for the 2024 season, the carousel is closed for renovations.

The Ross Park Zoo offers daily animal viewing hours from 10 am to 4 pm, with the last admission at 3 pm. Please note that the zoo is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas, and periodically closes for inclement weather.

Campus Location:
Ross Park Zoo is located at 60 Morgan Road, Binghamton, NY 13903 and shares its campus with the Discovery Center of the Southern Tier. Please note that while we share a campus, Ross Park Zoo and the Discovery Center are not affiliated in any way.

Parking:

There are several parking options available on campus. For the closest parking lot to the zoo entrance, we recommend looking for a spot in the zoo gift shop parking lot.

Gift Shop Parking Lot:

  • Upon entering the campus, take a right turn at the stop sign by the bus stop and head down to the gift shop parking lot.
  • Follow the signs leading to the zoo to avoid confusion with the Discovery Center of the Southern Tier.

Alternative Parking:

  • If the gift shop parking lot is full, there are other parking lots available on campus.
  • Look for signs directing you to additional parking areas.
  • You can also park in these lots and walk down to the zoo entrance.

Note:
If you happen to see a brightly colored cow statue, you are at the Discovery Center and will need to return to the main campus loop to access the zoo gift shop parking lot. Please follow signs for Ross Park Zoo to ensure you find the correct parking area.

See the table below for both in season and out-of-season admission rates.

Please note that special events like Eggstravaganza and Halloweekend may close the zoo for regular admissions and have separate event admission rates and require pre-registration. Please visit our upcoming events calendar for more details. Please note, complimentary admission passes are not valid for special events.
